Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

I never knew there was such a beast as a Porta 5, have you tried contacting Tascam? You might try Tascam's Forums at:

http://www.tascambbs.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro

You may need to contact support and you can get to an e-mail form at tascam.com. You might also look at the manual for "similar models" under products and find one that has the same basic features as yours. Believe it or not almost all Portastudios work the same for effects and bouncing. They all use a send and some just use an open channel for a return for effects and for bouncing just make the track active that you want to bounce to, select the Bus R or L (whatever the track you want to bounce to is) and pan all knobs hard R or L and for each track that you want to bounce set the switches to tape, because that is where your "source" is...on the tape. Again depending on your features this may vary. Again just find a manual on Tascams website that is similar and you should be well on your way.

I hope this helps in some way....;D
