Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. Subject: WAV/MP3 With Sound Forge?
by Mr. Blonde | 03/01/01 at 02:23:08
I'm very new to Sound Forge. I just got my own copy a few days ago. I figured there would be a way to convert .wav files to MP3s within the SF 4.5 software that I have. I can't seem to find a way. Can it be done in Sound Forge? If not, what's the easiest way to convert my .wav files to MP3s?
P.S.
Thanks for the info on the MP3 page questions in my last post.

You can always download the MusicMatch Jukebox from mp3.com.

I downloaded the Music Match encoder, and it works just fine, but it turns out I had an encoder all along. It was in my 'Audio Grabber' software. Sound Forge 5 does have an mp3 encoder, but not the 4.5 version I have.

The keyboard was a VK-7. Glad to hear you weren't sure! And thanks, glad you liked what you heard.

You can't do it in SF. Easiest way is to download an mp3 converter like Yamp and make your mp3 with it. You might want to check SFs site and see if they have or plan to have a mp3 converter plug in.

You need to use the Sound Forge MP3 plug-in. I think I saw it on the harmony-central.com software section as a demo. Sound Forge is pretty slow with Mp3's.
