Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

If you need headphones and mic, buy them separately to suit your needs..I just bought a set of sca-50 stereo headphones and they dont have music seepage when your recording with a mic closeby, thats one important factor. secondly you can buy software that costs hundreds of dollars, or find freeware packages that might not do what you want...these have limited capabilites. I am currently looking into trying Cool Edit just to see if its my type of user friendly :) Thirdly.. Microphones are really a choice of what you are recording, vocals, instrument, multiple instruments, plus vocal...how many tracks etc.. You really need to explain what you want to do so people can help you :)
