Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

I had written this one several weeks ago. Sam put music to it. The instrumental and lyrics can be viewed at:

"Quick Hands"
Genre: R & B
Artist: Female
(2001) Ronald Boyte

v1
Suddenly you kissed me And I thought that you loved me
Was I darling wrong assuming marriage As you held me tight
And then we're touching Heated passions sparked explosions
Cupid whispered in my ear I'm lost in lover's Paradise

chorus
Oh crazy arms hold me My Moma once told me
Beware of those guys with quick hands You boys have such quick hands
My crazy heart fooled me My Daddy had schooled me
About all the tricksters and their plans Boy you have such big plans
Oh crazy lips scold me The Preacher preached to me
Warning lustful sins condemns man

v2
Satisfied and weakened My desires are left wanting
Oh why Honey leave the nights just starting Don't we have a date
You dress too quickly And you say that you'll be calling
Then you honk while driving off My intuition speaks too late

chorus/mod.
Oh crazy arms hold me My Moma once told me
Beware of those guys with quick hands You boys have such quick hands
My crazy heart fooled me My Daddy had schooled me
About all the tricksters and their plans Boy you have such big plans
Oh crazy lips scold me The Preacher preached to me
Warning lustful sins condemns men

Once again, I'm sort of handcuffed ... and a little confused as to precisely how these words are going to fit the indicated music.  Maybe some kind soul will offer their services as lead singer and put the parts together ... until such time it's kind of like trying to imagine your house full of someone else's furniture.

From a lyrical standpoint, your Chorus seems a bit bass-ackwards.  You should start with the preacher's warning lines and end it on the hook line.  That way you'd get from general to specific ... instead of the other way around.  What precisely this will mean given the music, as I opened with, I couldn't rightly say.

Hope this helps ...
