ok so what the hell? Thought I'd post my latest junk I'm working on for lyrical critiques and comments. This is why I usually don't write lyrics . . . *laughs*

Nah, it's not really an "in crowd" thing. But if you think your work is crap, nobody is likely to argue. Give us something you like, or at least think has possibilities and I expect you'll get some response.

hey there, you know, its not you...its just this new board, no-one stops past anymore to leave some hints as to help each other as we used to do....I miss the connection, most newbies drop a song and fly but thats to the detriment of any boards survival...so we can hang in together and keep posting or just get pissed together!(cause no-one listens) and maybe we can help each other? Here, have a drink on me.
Now to the song, I think you need to move away from the DANCE like dancing around and focus on the deeper sense, I dont wanna DANCE to YOUR TUNE...YOU @^%$#&%$ politicians and preachers...then I think your song will really wake up, especially if you write it and really want to make something of it :) CAtch you dancing ....or drinking..

Crap = my sarcastic reference to my own crap.
Oops I did it again! So Spear me (but do it in the backstreet as we chew M&M's in sync.)
And the tune idea was while I was taking some swing dance lessons with my girlfriend . . . this dude had a terrible look on his face as if his wife dragged him there & made him do it.
So I thought I'd write a tune using "not wanting to dance" and twisting it into a reference of not wanting to conform to society's rules & laws. At least that was the attempt. Certainly WILL NOT be a dance tune *laughs*

Depending on the genre it's intended for, I don't really see any major problems. From the chorus, it sounds like it's intended to be sort of a Drowning Pool/Tool/etc kind of thing.
I like the irony of having the singer sing "I don't want to sing". Overall, the lyric is understandable and the verses are a good metaphor for the focus of the chorus...
I wouldn't change a thing - just make sure your music dovetails with the lyric.

My suggestion would be to give it a harder edge, if you're doing it metal. Let me clarify a little. I'm not talking about the concept, that's pretty cool. I'm talking about the words themselves. Like the line - I don't wanna dance. Add a 'k' sound - Kid don't wanna dance (just a suggestion and probably not the best one). It's an angry song so give it some angry words.
