Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

Subject: No Next Time
by Skyline   |   06/04/01 at 14:43:34

I think I've written a good one.  But then again ....  Views please?

"NO NEXT TIME"

(Minor key, modulating to major in choruses).  127bpm.

1.  I said those hurtful things, when I knew they weren’t true.
It’s happened many times: I keep on hurting you.
I’m rain that hides your sun,
'Can’t believe what I have done.

2.  I  search the empty streets, this time I’m so alone.
And how I really wish the night would bring you home.
I know I crossed that line,
But I swear I’ll change this time..

Chorus:      (There’ll be no next time)
This is the last time I make you cry.
                (There’ll be no next time)
Believe me, look in my eyes.
All I bring are words that burn,
I should bite my tongue; the lesson’s learned.
This time there’ll be no next time.
I promise, there’ll be no next time.

3.  You stand there by the light, those same tears in your eyes.
How can I make it right when I’ve told all those lies?
    I don’t deserve you now
    But I’m beggin’ anyhow.

Chorus:

4.  INSTR. SOLO.
I know I brought you pain
But I won’t do that again.

Chorus:      (There’ll be no next time), etc.

I promise, there’ll be no (until the?) next time.
