Subject: Vox pedals

hey guys! anyone ever try vox's pedals. i want a smooth warm distortion to put in front of my mesa-boogie subway combo's clean channel for a nice almost-distorted tone. i have a cheap soundtank tube screamer that i'm starting to get tired of.

I like the Danelectro Daddy-O. It's not one of the cheap plastic-case pedals they sell. Nice sturdy metal case. Much like the Ibanez Tube Screamer, but with tone controls (bass, mid, treble). Nice for adding a little dirt or a lotta crunch.

thanks haywire. i appreciate the suggestion. seems i'm going through a mild tone crisis lately... my boogie/strat combo was always "almost" what i wanted to sound like, but last week i played through a friend's vox cambridge (12ax7 in the preamp, but solid state otherwise). i loved the treble in the vox and wanted to get a pedal in front of my boogie to acheive it. since i last posted, i found a website that shows how to shift the tone response in a strat by changing a capacitor! i just did it a few minutes ago and it's awesome!!!! now i get all the tone i want and no pedals at all. thanks again, but now i'm ok.

Hey Maury, I got one of these and it's my favorite distortion pedal. Check it out:
