Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

Subject: A great big THANK YOU to Old Dan and the RW.com

Dan, great job and thanks again!  and thanks to all of you for being patient and suffering through that nasty proboard while I get things straightened out.  There's some interesting recording stuff going on I'll have to let you in on pretty quick.

For starters, my daughter and I wrote the lyric and melody to a Max Martin track over at http://www.Tonos.com for their contest.  The track is called "Nothing By Chance"

Let me say again that I'm very excited about joining forces with the RecordingWebsite.com (one of my favorite online haunts) - this should be fun!

Have a great one all! ;D

Oh no, I insist thank you!

I'm really excited all you fine folks are joining us. Hopefully we can make some beautiful music together  ;D

Now I have to get over to tonos and check out your tune. btw, you know Percy and his son are doing a version of John's The Old Canoe. Now I gotta get my kid to do something too  8)

Take care,
Dan

ps - still working on the link colors. any ideas?

hmmm... I like the teal color, but it doesn't show up all that well on the real light gray in the main text... shucks!  Hmmmm  dunno.  We'll figure it out! :)

The father/kid thing is too much fun - and that's what its all about for me.  I'm going to see if I can drag them kicking and screaming into the studio for some more "fun" more often! heheh

Hi to both Dans,

Ahhh- this is good to see.  There are good things happening with the Old Canoe project and Liana's demo of Old Dan's song was so cool.  Great move, guys!   I plan to be around.

What a great combo this is!  Wonderful idea.  The Freedom Exchange has always been, IMHO, the best lyric board out there... and in conjunction with Old Dan's RecordingSite... Wow!

I have had some problems accessing the RecordingWebsite in the past.  I found the same problems this morning on the new  Freedom Exchange.  My browser would crash sometimes (often).  So I bit the bullet and upgraded my IE browser.  That SEEMS to have fixed the problem, so if other's are experiencing crashes, you might try it.

Of course, it trashed my Outlook, so I had to go through some hair-pulling to get email again... I think I got it :-)

Anyway, great move, and thanks to you both for all you do for the songwriting community.

Great good luck!!!!

John

Hey Dan!  I'm just looking around (after finally finding) the site after many months...but I'm already impressed .  You've been busy.
Sure am glad I didn't totally miss hearing about the canoe project.
Looking forward to catching up.
