Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

Hi folks. Haven't been around much lately, but if you click over to my new IUMA site, you'll see why! ;-)
There you'll find a couple of new demos I've just finished up, the most recent of which is a little atmospheric story song, "Dangerous Man".
Lyrics to the song are availalbe on-site, but I'll reprint them here as well. Thanks as always, in advance.

Dangerous Man
©2001 by Don Rowe
He rolled in on a cloud of dust
Thrown up from chromium wheels
A rider in his armor
Leather worn down to the steel
If thirty was an age he'd passed
Back when Anderson ran
He was still one to be reckoned with
A genuine dangerous man
His gray gaze locked on Jenny
Her own eyes found the floor
She knew he was the weakness
She never could ignore
Her inner angel whispered
"Run as fast as you can"
But that devil had dropped anchor
Over this dangerous man
Bridge
"Keep your distance sir", she said
"Please don't even try
I won't be led astray this time
By your kind and your lies"
The dangerous man
Held up his hands
To show he meant no harm
Then reached into his pocket
For a letter taped and torn
"I have to give you this" he said
"I swore once that I would
Promises to the dying
I keep just like I should."
She took the letter from him
And read it as tears ran
For the loss so many years ago
Of another dangerous man
They spent the night remembering
Faded thunder on the roads
The days of wilder freedom
And the lightness of life's load
As dawn broke the horizon
She took the stranger's hand
He just shook his head and smiling
Said "I'm still a dangerous man."

Hi Don,
Took a listen to this one a few minutes ago. The sounds not bad!
A suggestion; the very first line could set this one up better immhho. Here's an idea. Use it or toss it!! Also, I could imagine some sort of intro with the thunder sounds of a motorcycle .
He rolled in on a thunder's rage
Black Harley's breathing fire
I realize this would affect your rhyming a tad. Started to offer a suggestion for the entire v1 but no! Ha!
Thanks!
Ron
