Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

I hope you like them. ;D If not we can always go back:(

You can do a lot of really cool things, like change the color of the text underline stuff and more. If you don't like it I'll be surprised :o

Cool messageboards....   ;D

I've seen these kind before.....  They work great. Can you port the messages from the current board to this one? Also, is there an ability to archive?

Hey Steve,
working on that porting stuff. I really really don't want to retype over 8000 messages :P

And I don't think it archives per se but when a preset amount of posts are reached it makes a new page. So they are still accessable(sp?).

Glad you like the board, so far I've gotten only positives.

Take care,
Dan

Other than that, pretty good. I might even register.

I like the modern look, you obviously take great pride in this website--KUDOS!

Here are sum thoughts I thunk:

I would think this wouldbe slow for someone with dial-up. I have ADSL and it loads slow.

I see alot of forums using this format Tascam being one.

The feature I will perhaps miss is the recent post list that is at the top of the other forum, I thought this was great to follow active posts.

The format seems incredibly busy and that may make hard to just browse all of the posts especially for those with a patience defecit.

All of that said I personally like the other one, but you guys that use this site like it and I am here to learn, contribute my 2 cents worth and expand my horizons. (actually, this might be my excuse to get a new computer and a 21" monitor)

How come I can't get the format tools to work?

Slow is bad >:( It seems to go okay here, but I have noticed other yabb boards are slow. That's not good. I've got some ideas, some good, some bad. Need to get with the developers and see what they think.

And one of the things I got this board for was that the most recent posts float to the top. Also, there's a link down below that list the recent posts too. And thank you for appreciating the latest post box. I did that!

And the busy thing has bothered me too. But the more you use it the easier it becomes. But I will look into ways of simplifing things. simple is good.

Thanks for you post, you made me think (which is not always a good thing ~grin~).

Take care,
Dan

This may take some getting used to, at least for me , but this has distinct advantages over the old system. I love the UBBC, this is so cool! But what the heck are "views"? And how come there are so many of them? Are they opinions , or some kind of 3d autocad thing? And what is my smiley smoking? 8)

Hey I thought I would throw a suggestion your way - side note: I am really liking this site. After a few days of playing with it I am getting used to it. Ok- I noticed when I go to the Users list of some of the other tools there is no link or button that I can find to take me back to the forum. Could a link be put in there to go back to the forums or could these areas just open up in a new window?
