Hey, I like it. Good music. Recording is a little rough around the edges but it has a really nice natural essence about it.

I liked this a lot..... It reminded me of Big D's song "Stuck on You" from SubT 4. I liked the vocal reverb a lot but would have turned the effect down just a tad. I really liked the guitar work and the general mix sounded good considering that I was hearing this on Real Player.....
Keep up the great work!! ;)

I liked the songs. I think you have done well in keeping to the pop-punk sound of the 70s-early 80's with the heavy reverb, simple bright rythms and the natural band sound, was that intentional?. For a home recording I give it a serious thumbs up.

Thanks for listening Seymour. I hope to make the next one better. That was the first time I've ever recorded at home other than 4 track cassette DI stuff.

Thanks for checking it out. I did the recording stuff and the singer did most of the mixing. I tried to get him to take it easy on the effects, but he insisted. I guess it turned out okay after all. When you hear the songs in context (all on a cd) it's okay because some songs are dry and others are saturated with effects like that.

Thanks! I guess it was intentional. I grew up listening to that kind of music, and I really dislike the new pop/rock sound where everything is really crisp and clear. I like some funky stuff going on down there in the mix. Like Fall albums from the 80's, produced by John Leckie. All that atmosphere is something I'd like to capture. But anyway, the songs Air People and Fire at Will were live takes with the backing vocal and 2nd guitar part overdubbed. They were also 1st takes, out of about 4 each. Funny how the 1st take always has the best energy.

cool tune, (air people)
What was that at the end of the song?? Some sort of talking? How did you do that?? On modern blood, how did you get that delay on the snare drum?

Those were the air people talking! :P Actually, that was a shortwave broadcast run through an oscillating filter. If you listen you'll hear that throughout the song in varying degrees. It's at the beginning as well, during the drum clicks.
For the delay I used a Lexicon MPX100, mono delay setting. It's a cheap effects unit but it has some pretty good delays and reverbs.
Thanks for listening! 8)

Great vocals. On some of the tunes, I liked how they were heavy reverbed and back in the mix. On a few of the others, they were too far back. I would have produced the songs a little different, but that's just me. Good stuff all around.

Thanks for listening. You know, it was really a compromise between me (bass player) and the singer. He would heavily drench with reverb, I would convince him to turn it down, etc. We had to make a compromise. I agree though, I would have mixed it differently and would like to re-record it, but it's time to move on to new projects.
