Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

Subject: Programming triplets...

Is there any free drum programming software that will allow me to program a triplet beat?  Leafdrums can't do it >:(

I have no idea what that is,but in the mean time,if you have a delay unit of some kind, try this.
Program a straight 1/4 beat and then run it through a delay. If your delay has options of what time signiture you want it to run,set it up with triplet repeats in the same tempo as your drum machine.
If your delay doesn't give you that option, you can still do it just by using your ears.
It will be obvious when it lines up.
      If you don't have a delay,then disregard this....... :)

If you're going to use a delay, you can convert delay time to bps with a bps calculator. there's a few freebies at the software section at www.harmony-central.com
