Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

Hi Ya'll I was just recently turned on to this message board. I just put my first song on MP3DotCom.It hasn't been "approved" yet I have many more to upload. This song was recorded on a Tascam 388 8 Track. Whick I recently sold. I mixed the songs down to Hi-Fi VCR then to the computer. I just bought a Behringer 1604 and a Delta44 interface. Finally took the digital plunge. Trying to learn as fast I can. Kinda impatient at times. In the meantime, until MP3 "approves"Here is the url to this song "I Still Love You".http://webpages.charter.net/bagrng/index/

Hi, I just listen to your song.  I dont have great speakers and im not wearing headsets so I'm not gonna comment on the mix.. I like the tune, love the guitar picking, very clean, sounds a bit like phil collins/police.  You dont sound like a newbie to me.  What music equipment are u using?

Good work..
Shana

By newbie, you mean, new to this site. You've been doing this music/recording thing for a while, haven't you. Really nice tune/vox/ overall production. And welcome aboard!

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, by Newbie I meant I'm new to this board. This song was recorded a couple years ago on the Tascam 388 RtoR 8 Track. 1 vocal track, 1 electric bass track. One guitar part in stereo and another guitar in mono. Drums were meant to be in stereo but something went wrong. Drums are Roland pads with an Alesis D4. I'm in the process of setting up a new all digital recording. My major problem is getting an SB Live! to work with my Abit kt7a,Athlon 850mhz and my Delta 44. When the SB Live is hooked up my puter freezes up totally. Very annoying! Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Spurgie

Sorry about the previous link. I don't know what went wrong. I registered and logged in but it still says I can't modify the previous message. So maybe this one will work right. http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/246/spurgie_hankins.html
