Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

Subject: drop out on burned CD
by Randy   |   04/07/01 at 04:38:01

Hello, I'm having a problem burning a CD from a live set I recored digitally with a Roland VS-880x. I transfer the recorded set to my PC, use GoldWave to put in "cues" to "split" the set into the various songs, then use Adaptec Easy CD creator to burn the set "disc at once" which is suppose to put the songs back, but marked so you can jump between songs. Normal sounding stuff... the problem that arose is that about one second or so before the end of the song, there is a quick "drop out" then the next track plays.

Is there something I'm not setting right? I've checked the wave files of the individual songs, and it's not there.. it seems to be happening during the burning process...

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Rad.

For my part I always go in the wave and make sure there is nothing befor and after the songs. You may have done that already. Next, I do mini fade-in and fade-out so the transition is smoother. 1/4 of second or 1/8.

Let me know if it helps !

good luck !
