Welcome to the Recording Forums archive of audio recording posts from the old Recording Website Message Board

Home recording and general music post from the archived Yabb Recording Website Message Board. Some of the info here may be outdated but many of the audio recording and home studio tips are still good. Note: The only tags I made and attempt to convert are italics, bold, center and underline. So if you see some gibberish surrounded by brackets, just ignore it.

Subject: SubT-7....Howzit going??
by Hooper   |   03/10/01 at 10:36:56

How is it going with you other folks working on your SubT-7 entry?  I've about got an arrangement of the chorus that I can keep but still trying to work something out for the versus.  Been doing a little bit of pruning, cutting and pasting with the words to make things fit better but no drastic changes.

Hey, Aaron- do you know how many entries are on the roster so far?

Hey Hooper/Everyone
I have pretty well got the bugs worked out except for a few. I managed to do the whole tune as written but the choruses are a bit weak as they are much shorter than the verses. Its just a chorus melodie thing I need to work out. Together, Warren and I came up with a neat groove, I forget what he called it, but its difficult to play and sing at the same time, thank God for multitracks. I have asked a local singer, Al Hudson, to do the vocals for me. I expect to be done by the end of the month(taking a car trip with my 71 yearold Dad to visit all my cousins/uncles/aunts in Alberta and get some of the best kubasa in the world at Mondair, Alberta).
Its going to be real cool hearing what everyone comes up with. Maybe down the raod a ways, SUBT 14 or somthing, we could put music to someones video production, now that would be awsome huh??(Hey S.B. you listening???)
Later
Percy

Silent Bob and I are laying tracks a week from this Saturday then we send them to Salt Lake for JR#97 and Ally to work on. I doubt we make the April 15 deadline but we will see.

I plan to cut, paste and patch together a demo version this weekend.  I'll live with that a little while and practice up some before starting to record the keeper tracks.  Heh, this is going to be fun to hear the differant versions....

I'm probably a little behind most of you on mine.  I had an unexpected trip to Nashville planned for me when I got back from my fun trip and a week or so of ISO training before that.  So basically I haven't done jack squat for the past three weeks!  With that said, let's push the date to early May.

Well the Ill A Noise Boys have all their tracks down. ;D
WE will be ready. Maybe ;)
We have to mix everything down. Gary's going to do a mix on his stuff, Steve will do one on his and I'll do a mix here. Then we'll take the best tracks and make a song.

I hope the rest of you folks have had as much fun as we did! And I have to say I think we did a pretty good job. Or actually Gary, Mark and Steve did. I can't wait to hear all the entries.

Sounds cool 'Noise Boys.  It's been a rainy weekend in NC- good recording weather so I've been re-doing some  Canoe tracks.

Who else has been working on an Old Canoe this weekend?

If you guys have the space, a couple more blasts from the sub-t past
are interested in joining in.  Ron M. and I are still at it, and have something
for the next volume.

Thanks
Joe M

Hey Joe M.  Where've you guys been?  I missed you unusual input on Sub-T 5 & 6.

Hey guys, how's it going? You'd have to ask Seymour for sure but I'd love to hear your interpretation. Besides, it wouldn't be a SubT without you :)

Take care,
Dan
