Manzarek, Krieger and the drummer (can't remember his name) were definitely "one of the best" when it came to writing music over poetry. If I'm not mistaken... I believe that most of The Doors songs were written in this manner.

I write MUSIC first... and I constantly wonder how people write music to lyrics. I find that totally amazing! It's something I could NEVER do.
