When you listen to the Beatles' Anthology, there are a lot of examples of Lennon lapsing into nonsense when he either forgot the words, or hadn't written them yet. The few examples that got left on the actual records (Cranberry sauce at the end of Strawberry Fields, and that little babbling bit at the end of I'm So Tired) made people think that he was putting cryptic clues about McCartney's untimely demise. He must have gotten quite a laugh about that.
