the letter indicates the fix/enhancement release. so instead of 4.5.1, 4.5.2, you get 4.5a, 4.5b, etc. Noise reduction is a seperate plug-in for SoundForge. There maybe a demo on the sonicfoundry website. If not, check out the software section at www.harmony-central.com. happy tracking.
