Coldplay huh?! I love those guys. Just got into their new album. It's hard to tell you what EQ settings to use because no one knows what your own voice sounds like. You will probably just have to play with it. Of course, a little gentle compression never hurts. The one thing I have noticed about Coldplays vocals is that they are amazingly clear, with no fuzz from overdriving the preamp. I would suspect that they used a really nice microphone(maybe a U-87) and they have some very clear long reverb on there too. I would try and rent a nice mic for a day, pound out all the vocals with no reverb printed to the tracks, and then play around with the reverb later on the auxes until you have the same type as on the record. I think a perfect example of a song to judge this on would be "Spies". Good luck.
