You are absolutely right but I posted the info relative to the interest of folks here, which is, in part, digital recording. This guy also wants this mic to double in a home studio setting as well, as he is considering some kind of stand alone daw. We didn't track to the analogue machine 'cause quite frankly I didn't want to burn up tape and it wouldn't have really told any more about the characteristics of the mic live anyway. Only way to really do that is to take the mics to a venue that has the characteristics of the places he usually sings. Then the big deal is that he can't hear it in the room anyway 'cause he's up there singing. But I thought the info might be of some interest to the folks here who might be thinking about mics to try. I agree about singers and picking mics that are forgiving of their voices, but that's exactly what I want them to do 'cause making them sound bad is not my idea of a great time ;-), We're making dreams here, not copies. Thing is that this guy has a deep resonant voice and the 4047 made him sound like he though he should. Take care Logan
