My wife read your post, she said (TYPE), So this is what she said, think about going into the army, you get educational benefits which are pretty substantial these days. You also get training in the field you are interested in, and of course, lots of discipline...something you will need in the real world. You will most likely meet other musicians, and technical people from the get go as I did when I was in the army and then stationed in Germany in the early 70's. I was able to play in a band (outside the military in German night clubs)and research audio. Just another option to consider if you are not interested in persuing a "normal" college education.
