I have a MD4 and like it. It's not the best sounding maching in the world but the MD8 has a newer version of ATRAC and sounds a lot better. As far as mini discs being around in 10 years, who knows. Personally I thought mini discs would have replaced cassette by now. It looks like mp3 is going to do that.
