You might want to try working on a junk guitar
before you dive in. I work on 20-30 guitars a week
doing minor tweaks to major over hauls and I
wouldn't try this to a guitar that has any value
unless I've tested it out on a junker.
Most libraries have good books on wood working as
well as luthier finishing etc.
Have you considered a 2nd neck?
