Echo Darla 24 quality

Posted by Mike on December 22, 2000 at 03:27:37 AM:

I currently have a sound blaster AWE 64. I have a number of problems with it including the facts that 1) it WON'T stop recording MIDI onto audio tracks and 2)there are periodic pops on audio tracks. I want to know if I was to step up to an Echo Darla 24 if the quality would improve. I don't need the greatest quality recording... just something that doesn't have pops and spaces in a track... and where audio tracks can be recorded INDIVIDUALLY, not with parts of other tracks or parts of MIDI tracks in them.

Also, on the echoaudio website, in the list of supported software programs, Cakewalk pro is listed, but not Cakewalk home studio. Does this mean that home studio flat out won't work or it's just not recommened for some reason???

If it matters, I have a celeron 300MHz processor and 128MB of RAM.

Thanks a lot!!!

Mike
