In Reply to: RECORDING VINYL TO CDR...HELP!!! posted by Mike on October 10, 2000 at 11:43:01 AM:

I have a Philips and it's a pain to record vinyl, tapes, and even CDs. The problem is the deck doesn't start to record unless there is signal. So sometimes the deck won't start recording until just a bit after the song started, thus missing part of the begining. After having this deck for six months I have had to learn (discover) how to get around the decks faults.
This is what I do with vinyl;
1)start recording and once the song is just about to start I push the foward button (to the next track)
2)I record a bunch of songs this way, then I finalize
3)then I put this CD into a CD deck with an optical output and program all the tracks that came out right and record it on the Philips in the sequence I want it in.

For tapes I play the tape and push the reset button on the index counter when the music is just about to start1)I rewind the tape and get ready to push play on the CD recorder when it almost 0000

Hope this helps...
