Need advice on simple home recording set up for my daughter

First, let it be known that I know virtually nothing about home recording. So with that in mind, I would greatly appriciate any advice on the following:

My 14 year-old daughter is in a childern's choral group. See wants to make simple multi-track recordings of herself singing, where each track will represent a different harmony part.

See is doing this to mainly learn the songs, but see would also like to have fun with it and perhaps show off to her friends a little.

What would you recommend? Critera:
1. Resonable cost.
2. Prefer PC based solution.
3. Easy to use

If there is a PC-based solution, is it as simple as getting a certain sound card? Or perhaps sound card + special recording software?
