Am I losing my hearing or my brain?!

I was just reviewing some old albums I had worked on and one album where the original recording I was given, had 2 really bad errors that I had to patch in mastering. At the time, the patches stuck out like a sore thumb (but better than the original errors) and now I can barely hear them. Also, a lot of recordings that I thought were mediocre sound a lot better to me now. So am I losing my hearing or am I going nuts?
