Vegas _amp; Wavelab editing 24 bit files??

Posted by Tim Z on October 23, 2000 at 11:43:04 AM:

I want to use Vegas for tracking and Wavelab for editing, and would like to use 24 bit files. However, when I select Vegas to record 24 bit files, it automatically makes them 32 bit files. I have no idea why it does this because Vegas doesn't have a 32 bit selection, only 8, 16 _ 24 bit. Anyway my problem is that I cannot open them up in Wavelab as they are 32 bit files and Wavelab will not recognize them. Does anyone know how I can get Vegas to make them 24 bit files instead of 32? I have tried setting Wavelab to playback 32 bit files, but no matter what I do it keeps on saying it can't recognize the file type. However, I can open 16 bit files in Wavelab that were recorded in Vegas. Also if I open the Vegas 32 bit file in CEP and save it as a 24 bit file, I can then open it in Wavelab. So it seems to be a 32 bit file problem for Wavelab, but if I could simply record or save the files as 24 bits in Vegas everything would work fine, but Vegas makes them all 32 bits??

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

TZ
