Have the signal from a cd player going to an eq then into your power amp/monitors. Listen to a commercial cd. Start boosting frequencies (like 100 in particular, actually any of them). Then hook up whatever your mix is on and have that go throught the EQ into your power amp/monitors. Try boosting those same frequencies and see if your mix holds up like the commercial cd did. Whatever the results, make adjustments on your recording from there.
