FOSTEX considers the dmt 8s drive to be non user serviceable - its not a pop in or out kind like the d80 - I had to send mine to fostex for them to upgrade it (to a 2.2 gb, about and hour 15 minutes recording time) - It cost around 250 total labor shipping and all
