I know there have been lots of questions on these compressors and how they compare. Last night I was working on a mix that consisted of heavy distorted guitars, bass, and drums. For me, that combo is the hardest to get instrument seperation. Anyway, to the point. I was compressing the kick. I tried the Composer and RNC and found something that worked equally well on both. I set the attack and release times to the quickest settings, and the kick instantly set right in the mix-neither seemed to color the kick with this setting (compressed 4-6 db). I believe this is like a peak limiter setting, but it sounded better than the peak limiter on the composer. Just FYI. thanks
