I've been very happy with the performance I'm getting and I want to be able to recover quickly should something go awry. My entire DAW system (Win95, NTracks, Adaptec CD Creator) takes up a wopping 300MB on a FAT 32 partition (1.2GB) that I created. I would like to be able to create a self extracting .EXE file of the system and store it on a CD to reload periodically.
Question: Can I create a CD with a self extracting .exe file that will allow me to format the system partition and start over with a "clean slate"? For example, if my whole system drive is wiped out, I would like to be able to load a Win95 recovery disk, format the system partition and run an .exe file off of CD that will install the entire system back to the way it is now (plug-ins, hardware config, n-tracks buffers set etc...)I know there are issues with writing the allocation tables and stuff, but is there software that facilitates this? The problem with just backing the whole thing up is that pesky read-only switch that happens when you burn to CD.

Thanks,
p
