Here's the deal:
Non-intel processors don't nec. accept and process the instructions some programmers put into thier code. Why? Well, for the most part - many of these programmers use FULL INTEL based systems (both processors and chip-sets on the motherboard). You would think that they would test on a few more systems but that would drive the cost of the software up to you the consumer.

What does this mean to you? In your case, the only thing you can do is test your software on your new system yourself and return it if it doesn't work. I did this with my self-made DAW from a 166MHz K-6 processor with an intel chipset.
Most of my software runs fine but every once in a while my editor goes KABLOOEY (to coin a Calvin
& Hobbes term) during a session.

I tend to trust the software makers when they say on the box 'use with an intel processor only' because you know they had to test on that in order to print it on the box. As I upgrade my system I will be going to an all Intel chipset and processor ... but that's so I can be as compatable as I can be with the available stuff out there in the world. As my wife says all the time "isn't it worth the extra $X to make sure you're compatable - even if Intel and Microsoft are stupid monopolies?"

Good luck
Eddie
