Well so far I have mixed 6 separate CD releases to Wavelab using my 233mhz AMD K6 chip, and currently working on my 7th. I have burned over 500 CD's with this set-up with no problems other than my own human errors. If all you want to do is CD mixes from your 8 track, then you have more than enough CPU for that task. Your system could probably handle 20+ tracks playback.
What is your 8 track system?
How are you going to transfer your mixes to comp?
What software will you be using to mix to and burn your CD's?
