Greetings and thanks in advance for your feedback!
I have very little experience on the controls-side of recording - so apologies
for any stupid questions here. Can anyone offer advice on the recording the CP70 to a 4 track (Porta-2).
Questions include:
1/ should i use the balanced line outs and - if so - which of the 2 should i use - or should i use both
(channel 2 seems too hot for recording)?
2/ i have a low-end Alesis compressor. I was thinking of running the CP70
into my powered mixer (to EQ it) then into the compressor then into
the 4-track. Is there any value in going thru the powered mixer apart from
the EQ, because if not, may be cleaner to run the CP70 directly into the compressor.
3/ the CP70 seems to carry a fair bit of natural reverb..given this, should i record it
direct with no effects (i.e. it doesn't seem to miss having external effects)
4/ the bass really hums if i turn the CP70's front-panel bass setting up. As a result,
i leave it virtually all the way off. Is this normal for the CP70?Thanks again!
Mike
