I have very little experience with Sabian but they seem to be on the experimental side of what Zildjian does. Almost all my cymbals are mid-late 1960s A Zildjians so I'm kind of out of the loop here.

BTW, if you ever get a chance to get an Istanbul for cheap, get it. They are by far the best cymbals I've ever heard. Istanbul is what Zildjian used to be in the 1700s. In fact, they're made in Zildjian's old factory.
