I believe I have heard some of that, and you're right. BTW, "Cast Your Fate" is high on my list of all-time favorite instrumentals. Apparently, I'm not alone, as I recall hearing Joe Walsh toss the famous passage in a "harmonics" portion of a guitar solo on some live album somewhere.
If art imitated life, then Chuck probably would have gotten a valentine eventually, but not from the little red-haired girl. Probably would have come from Peppermint Patty...and he would have realized that true happiness is not in unattainable goals, but had been staring him in the face all that time. Sure is strange that Schulz would die the night before his final original strip was published.
