Although the Line 6/POD stuff sounds pretty good,
(the effects could sound a lot better)
I personally think the Sansamp stuff recreates
the feel(Spongyness or Sag) of warmed up power
tubes better. I will agree that Sansamps do sound
like a recording of a real miked guitar amp, but
that is what they are designed for. If you play
one through a guitar amp they ruin the tone of the
guitar amp(a recording of an guitar amp thru a
guitar amp = small sound).

I've played Tech 21 Sansamps and guitar amps,
Johnson, Crate Digital and Flexwave, Line 6 and
others. As far as true tube feel, I think Tech 21
and Peavy Transtube are closest. For digital emulation
I think the Yamaha DG series is by far the best.
Played side by side, the Line 6 sounds slightly
thin and muffled while the Yamaha is full and rich.
