I am using a Fostex R8 1/4" reel to reel 8 track recorder, and I’m wondering if going to a Tascam 38 1/2" 8 track unit will be a major upgrade in sound quality. I want a bigger sound! Any input from folks who have used 1/4" vs. 1/2" analogue 8 track would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
