I just started working on the same problem.
If you have a 20-30 band EQ, you can eliminate 60Hz all together and cut 120Hz a little to reduce the hum. The anoying buzz part actually lies between 9Khz and 16KHz. It's especially present from 10KHz-14KHz. Try cutting there and boosting 4-7KHz to maintain inteligability.
