It's inevitable that more artists try to cause some action againsts the cartel. If one slave in the 1800s tried to break away and the others didn't because they would be copying, where would we be now? It's the same thing now. Granted, musicians aren't treated quite as badly, Aerosmith is basically a slave to Sony now and the only way they can get away is to either die or deal with a contract breach (sp?) lawsuit. Now while I wouldn't buy a Hole album, I like their music and I respect them for what they do. I think they deserve more credit than they get. Courtneys article, while exaggerated in some instances, was actually quite well founded.
