Actually, LA2As were were getting close to
nearly worthless until the advent of digital.
I saw them
go from $200 to $1200 in 3 years, and now they're
much worse than that. They're
not that good sounding, but they are "tube".
By the way, I believe all the stuff I said you could
get for $500 could be found for that. I know they could
be gotten for that here in hollywood if you don't
need one right NOW! and could look around in the
papers and what not for a few weeks. I believe a
few weeks ago there were some gain-brains on ebay
that went for around $175 per channel.
Incidentally, so you don't think I am that out
of date,
in February I bought 2 gain brains, 2 kepexes, and
the rack and power supply they came in for $325
Why somoene with $500 wouldn't at least TRY and
find some pro stuff "used" before he buys semi-pro "new"
is completely
beyond me.
