Ya, the 3630 is without a doubt *the* most hated compressor by pros everywhere. The RNC is the best bang for the buck anywhere. I just got done using it on a vocal mix tonight, total transparency. I also used it tonight on a drum overhead doing 18db of gain reduction! That's a lot. It sounded fat as all heck but no nasty artifacts, still stayed airy. I've got 3 RNCs now and they rock! I mean the thing is under $200 and has a 100khz frequency response!
