I live and work in the L.A. area (burbank). Ya, I have a studio
but have not really done anything commercial for
quite a few years.... Other than pay rent there. I guess
I have done a couple things for some friends, but
that's about it. (I'm also a building contractor, I
have no Idea why..probably for money). I'd like to
retire out of contracting and just record and mix.
(preferably mix), and will probably do so as soon
as I feel confortable dropping contracting com-
pletely. I've always kept my good
gear and sold the crap. Music has always been
my first love, so
I have a bunch of mics, a 2" 24, 2" 16,
discrete 70s
console, a bunch of good limiters, outboard
gear etc.,I don't own any Neumann's and would like
to own a pair of U-67s. That will be my first major
expense on something I WISHED I WOULD have bought
in the 80s when I could have got a pair used for $3k.,
Hindsight does wonders (HA HA)talk about hindsight,
I could've bought 1176's for about $250 a pop used
back then,. used tube limiters didn't really get
expensive until someone invented digital and needed
to "fix" the digital harshness.
Anyway, sorry for the long babble.
