what I thought. Once (or if) you get an 8 in 8 out card, you'll probably never want to use the MD8 again anyway. Tracking to comp will almost certainly give you better results and will avoid an extra pass through the converters, assuming you did it the way you are planning.
I would also throw in the Midiman Delta 1010 to take a serious look at. I have always found Midiman products to be very well priced, very reliable, sound great and have excellent technical support.
