I do the same. I have all my recording sessions backed up on two CDR's. CDR's are cheap enough to have at least two back-ups. They can be easily labelled and retrieved at anytime. Why can't you just use your existing 2x burner? For back-up purposes the difference between 2x and 4x is unimportant as time is not paramount when backing up.
