Another article idea

How about an article, or perhaps a separate little section on
the site containing recording tricks and gimmicks? I don't mean
like EQ rules ("for vocal clarity dip blah blah at 200 hz") but
offbeat tips that aren't necessarily technical and don't require
any major purchases? The kind of tricks that solve little problems,
but not in ways you might have thought of immediately.

For example, I often use a "placebo" mic when recording vocals to
keep our singer from chewing up the real recording mic. Or sometimes
I'll rerecord a DI bass thru an amp to have an extra track to play
with. Both of these things have been brought up here before but
I'm sure everyone here has a few favorites.

Perhaps this could be one continuing article that people could add
to over time, or maybe a separate subpage with many mini-articles.
Ideas, anyone?
