I'm new to the home recording thing, and I'm trying to get the best results with recording a baby grand piano. I'm using a Boss BR-8 with two CAD 95 mics recording simultaneously. I've been experimenting with mic positions, and I'm still not entirely happy with the result. When I increase the sensitivity I get some hissing noise. What's the best settings for sensitivity and input on the mics? How high above the strings should I place the mics? Where's the best placement for the mics? I'll take any suggestions. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from this equipment. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
