I had the same problem and in my case it was my CD Rom drive (not the burner) was too slow. It was a 12x read and I replaxced it with a 40x read. This is normally a buffer underrun problem, and can usually be resolved in one of three ways:
1. replace your CD rom with a faster one;
2. first copy the CD to your hard drive and burn from there; (and the easiest)
3. burn at 2x instead of 4x (1x if necessary)
