There are a lot of great advantages with midi. For an example it is great when you compose. It is very easy to transpose and change sounds on already recorded parts. There is also very easy to move separate notes if you wants to change a bass line for example. i can see your point SB, midi all alone does not sounds that good. i use to mix midi, audio REX files and drumloops for the most flexible way of working.
